The world's number 1 provider of laser eye surgery and a leader in spectacles, contact lenses and sunglasses.
Equipment & Facilities
The hospital is easy to access from all points across Manchester. A convenient drop off and pick up zone is located at the front of the hospital, with extensive free car parking next door.
The hospital has been designed to ensure that all diagnostic and surgical procedures are performed on the ground floor, in close proximity to a pleasant waiting area available for use by family and friends.
The Ward
The ward area is comprised of eight individual cubicles, designed to ensure privacy for patients and centrally located around the nurses' station. Each cubicle has a personal TV & radio unit. There are also five fully reclining chairs for patients recovering from minimal day-case procedures.
For overnight stays, there are two private rooms for patients requiring isolation, and a further six private en-suite rooms with wall mounted LCD TVs, radios and internet access.
The Digital Diagnostic Radiology Suite
The hospital’s fully digital diagnostic suite ensures that images can be transmitted immediately to Consultants anywhere in the world. With a wide range of the latest diagnostic radiology equipment, radiologists can support our Consultants in making accurate diagnoses of a number of conditions.
Using equipment ranging from familiar x-ray and ultrasound technologies to the latest in Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) technology, a quick and effective treatment plan can be created for each individual patient.
The Operating Theatre Suite
Three operating theatres have been installed at Bridgewater Hospital, with a four bed recovery area where patients can be closely observed as they wake up from anaesthetic.
One of our operating theatres is a Laminar Flow Theatre, which has been created to an extremely high air quality specification so that orthopaedic procedures such as joint replacements can be carried out without risk of air-bourne infection. In addition, the theatre has extensive camera facilities producing high-quality images for Surgeons to work from. This also allows for on-site training events and conferences, as the images can be transmitted to a 50-inch plasma TV located in the boardroom. Delegates can observe ‘live’ surgery, and enter into two-way dialogues with the Surgeon as he performs.
Outpatients Department
Situated on the first floor, our spacious and contemporary waiting area is adjacent to thirteen Consulting Rooms, as well as a minor treatment room, physiotherapy suite, health screening facility and the Manchester Fertility Services Clinic.
Restaurant
Serving refreshments along with hot and cold snacks, our restaurant welcomes staff, patients and visitors.
