Ear Pinning (Pinnaplasty)

Choose the hairstyle you've always wanted and restore your confidence with an ear reshaping procedure. Ear pinning, also known as otoplasty or pinnaplasty, has never been safer or simpler.

Who chooses Ear Pinning?

Protruding ears can have a massive impact on levels of self-esteem, with many children, teenagers and adults suffering serious emotional stress because their ears stick out.

Otoplasty is one of the oldest, most established cosmetic surgery procedures and can enhance the balance between your ears and other facial features to give you renewed self-confidence.

For many women, the source of much distress can be relieved with simple ear pinning surgery. This may allow you to improve your appearance in other ways, such as changing your hair style or tying your hair back in a ponytail, when previously your hair was used to hide your ears. Otoplasty is also a popular choice for men who suffer from protruding ears.

This straightforward procedure reduces protruding ears whilst maintaining a natural looking appearance and improving self-confidence.

More About Ear Pinning

Is Otoplasty Right for You?

The suitability of otoplasty for you and your ears can be discussed with your Surgeon.

Your Otoplasty Consultation

Your free ear pinning consultation will take place with one of our experienced patient coordinators and cosmetic nurses. They will arrange an appointment for you to meet with your Surgeon before your otoplasty procedure. Your Surgeon will explain what option is best for your requirements and how you can expect to look afterwards.

The Procedure for Otoplasty

Your otoplasty procedure may be conducted to meet aesthetic goals and can be performed either under local or general anaesthetic. The procedure normally requires an hour in surgery, but the exact timing depends on your individual requirements.

Recovery from Otoplasty

You will need to rest after your otoplasty procedure until the effects of the anaesthetic have passed and general painkillers can be used if needed.

You will need to make arrangements to be driven home. Before you leave, your nurse will advise you about your healing time and arrange a follow-up appointment for you. This usually takes place about two weeks after your otoplasty procedure.
